Artist's Statement
About the Artist
I grew up in Denver, CO., studied Art at UNC and San Francisco Art inst. as well as Anderson Ranch (scholarship), Santa Fe mono printing workshop with Ron Progresso, and The Art Students League of Denver.
I have taught Art at Arvada Sr. High, Jefferson County, CO,, Red Rocks Community College, and a course in teaching Art at Metro, Denver as well as supervising student teachers in Art. My degrees in art Art and Education, allowied me to hone my artistic skills and share them with many young people, some of whom have become artists in their own right.
I have mounted a one-woman show, shown in a number of juried shows, including the Rocky Mt. National water media show and the Denver Art Museum, Colorado's Own.
After raising a family, I am now painting full-time in my studio.
I always loved to draw, a love that has only deepened with time. Painting is where the world goes away, and time has no meaning until it becomes dark outside and my colors are no longer true. My degrees are in Art and education where I have honed my artistic skills and shared them with many young people, some of whom have become artists in their own right.
My oportunity to be in the studio full time is a dream come true!
Artist Statement
Creativity is both necessary and fun for me. When I paint, the world goes away and time has no meaning until it becomes dark outside and my colors are no longer true. Art is when our emotions, knowledge and fearlessness come together. Sometimes the product simply falls into place; sometimes it is hard-fought, but almost always is tweaked at the end.
